Our Las Marietas Islands Scuba Expedition take you out just a few miles off the west coast of Puerto Vallarta for diving in waters protected from hunting and fishing- the fish populations are incredible! This is one of the few places you can dive from Puerto Vallarta where the marine life is protected from all human interaction except diving and kayaking.

These volcanic islands have not only abundant marine life around them, they're also riddled with caves, crevices, and tunnels. This is partly due to military testing of explosives nearly a century ago, but that's long finished. Now Las Marietas is one of the most intensely protected marine parks in all of Mexico. And what a difference this has made! A virtual haven for all sizes and types of sea creatures, Las Marietas holds mantas, octopus, humpback whales, dolphins and more. Much, much more!

The protected status creates such a rich environment for marine life, you'll see things here you probably won't see on other dives. Depths range from 15 to 90 feet, and there are more cleaning stations here than any other spot in Banderas Bay. There is much plankton, which attracts the Great Pacific Manta. These enormous creatures range from 8 to 14 feet and spotting one while diving will an experience you'll cherish forever.
